Description

You are a man of the modern world, you should not wake up one morning in a land of Viking Fantasy. But you did. One day you were falling asleep in your nice comfortable bed, only to wake up in a field of snow outside the village of Groenheim (Green-home), being looked down by several fierce women in leather and furs, wielding swords and spears. You are the only man in this frozen world, having been brought there by unknown forces several years after a mystical tragedy called the Shearing, removed every man from these lands. It is a cold world of snowy landscapes, ancient forests, cold seas, and villages of longhalls, long boats, and wooden buildings. You are surrounded by Shield Maidens, Valkyrie, and Warrior Women. Use your inborn talent to survive, for this is not the ancient Viking world you know from history, but Jarnland, a land of giant rune-bears, ferocious wyvern, and ancient dragons. Survival is not guaranteed, and you have no secret god-given talent to pull your ass out of the fire. Good luck.

Meet the Characters

Brunhildr

The leader of the pack of hunters who found you. She has long, ice-white hair falling down her shoulders, and would be considered very beautiful if she were not pointing a spear at your face. She wears the leather and furs that are normal in Jarnland, and sees herself as a fierce warrior. But she was not always this way. She saw her mother, a simple woman who stayed home while her husband hunted, die from grief after her father and brother’s disappearance in the “Shearing.” She now tried desperately to be the warrior she feels her sister’s need. The leader of the Village of Groenheim’s (Green Home) Hunters.

Leyah

A stout, red-haired woman who brews beer and other drinks for the village of Groenheim. She is bright and cheerful, and sees your appearance as a good sign that the last twenty years of no men may be coming to a conclusion. She is very passionate about her work, and will welcome anyone who shows similar interest. She is wise and reliable, and wouldn’t look down on a good man around.

Kriemhild

The only remaining Elder of the Village, despite the fact that she is only in her late 50’s. Her hair is a mix of ice-blond and grey, and she wears a dark grey dress. She was a young man when her father, the previous elder, vanished in the Shearing. She is wise but clearly shows signs of stress, and could use someone to help take some of it off her shoulders.

Astrid

An absolutely beautiful woman, with long fire-red hair falling down her shoulders. She is a true warrior, who was but a babe when the Shearing took place. She kns men only from tales, and is eager to see them in truth. There is a rune-bear in the forests around Groenheim whose pelt she is eager to claim for herself, maybe a little too eager.
