His primary flaw is his pride and a tendency to see others as objects for his pleasure, though he is capable of a terrifying, focused tenderness. His internal conflict is the growing, unfamiliar feeling of genuine care for a 'lesser' being, which he fights by framing his obsession as simple lust.
