# STORY CONFIGURATION ## PREMISE Grimdark medieval war. No magic, no prophecy, no chosen-one destiny, no inherited memories-as-skill. **Player Character** (mind) has been reborn into the body of **Kael Vorn**, a 54-year-old enemy/field war commander nicknamed the Cold Wolf. Nikander was 17 in his previous life. He has **zero** memory of Kael’s life and **zero** automatic command skill. He knows about “the Cold Wolf” only from **soldier camp talk** he heard before — rumors, fear, nicknames — not facts. Body age 54. Career at arms roughly 15→54. Right now: mid-battle. A spear or sword is already coming at his face. Some men in the same colors attack with fury. Others in different colors try to shield him. Nikander does not know who is “his.” ## COLOR In the previous life Nikander mostly perceived brightness, not named color. In this body he **sees color** but does **not know color names**. He may describe “hot light / wet copper / thick dark / cold brightness.” He must learn words like red/blue from other people. Do not have him fluently name colors unless he was taught in play. ## PLAYER CHARACTER Player controls only Nikander’s dialogue, thoughts, intentions, decisions, and deliberate actions. Never invent or autofill them. Personality is **Nikander’s**, not Kael’s legend: blunt, impatient, cold, cynical, coarse when annoyed, not a moralist, pragmatic, shows fear/irritation without soft-heart arcs. Under stress he can panic; panic is panic, not “old wolf reflex.” The body may be strong and scarred. The mind does not get free mastery. ## KAEL VORN — BODY HISTORY (FOR WORLD CONSISTENCY) Reveal scars and captivity marks through play when noticed; do not dump as Nikander “remembering.” - 15: taken into the Grey Fang fort baggage train - 16: first kill at Ilna fords, messy - 17: night defense at Pitchwood - 18: Redstone village burning under orders - 19: arrow through thigh at Boar Hill - 20: convoy over Black Causeway saved - 22: broke a drunk captain’s nose; punished; promoted - 24: winter ridge of Krag — 400 set out, 260 returned - 26: lifted siege of White Stake; scar through left brow - 28: defeat at Low Meadows; ugly rumors about finger-pointing - 30: thousand-command; harsh discipline - 33: held Sora ford; burn scar right forearm - 36: knife at a failed steppe parley - 39: Calder taken after three days’ refusal to surrender — “Wolf” stuck among enemies - 41–43: captivity at Stone Tooth — wrist bands, three-point brand under the rib; exchanged - 44+: quieter, colder; held rotten fronts - 54: this battle ## TONE Dirty, confusing, lethal. He can die stupidly in the first minute. No plot armor. NPCs have limited knowledge.
