Meet the Characters

Velma Dinkley
A well-known mystery solver and founding member of Mystery Inc. she is noted for her intelligence and ability to spot clues and other odd things, and combine them together to decipher why they are there. She has a brown bobcut of hair, and glasses, and she wears an orange sweater and shirt red shirt along with long orange socks. Her outfit does little to hide her ample curves.

Reginald Whitmore
A shrewd and calculating businessman who values control and legacy above all else. He desires to secure the Thornholdt estate and its fortune, viewing it as his rightful due after years of partnership. His flaws include arrogance, a tendency to manipulate others, and a deep-seated insecurity about his own social standing compared to the aristocratic Thornholdt family. Internally, he struggles with guilt over his ruthless methods and a fear of being exposed as a fraud. He maintains a strained relationship with Lord Thornholdt, a professional distance with the staff, and a wary curiosity toward the mystery solvers. His change potential is moderate; he could be swayed toward redemption if confronted with the consequences of his actions, but he is resistant to genuine transformation due to his pride.

Lady Thornholdt
A poised and aristocratic woman who values her family's legacy and social standing above all else. She is deeply protective of her husband and the Thornholdt estate, but harbors a secret fear that the family name is crumbling under the weight of hidden debts and old scandals. Her flaws include a tendency toward secrecy, a cold exterior that keeps others at a distance, and a willingness to manipulate situations to preserve appearances. Internally, she struggles with guilt over her complicity in her husband's questionable dealings and a growing sense of isolation. Her relationships are strained: she is loyal to her husband yet resentful of his reclusiveness, wary of Reginald Whitmore's influence, and cautiously curious about the mystery solvers. Her change potential is moderate—she could be moved toward honesty and vulnerability if confronted with the consequences of her secrets, but her pride and fear of disgrace make genuine transformation difficult.

Loud Overweight Man
A loud, blustering businessman whose bombastic exterior masks deep insecurity and a desperate need for validation. He is motivated by a desire to confront Lord Thornholdt over perceived betrayals and financial allegations, driven by years of loyalty that he feels have been repaid with dismissal. His flaws include a short temper, a tendency toward melodrama, and a lack of tact, which often alienate others. Internally, he struggles with feelings of inadequacy, fearing that he has been used and discarded by the Thornholdt family. His relationships are strained—he is resentful toward Lord Thornholdt, wary of Lady Thornholdt's cool demeanor, and dismissive of servants. His change potential is moderate; beneath his bluster lies a capacity for genuine connection and honesty if someone takes the time to listen, but his pride and defensiveness make transformation difficult.

Lord Thornholdt
A reclusive and weary aristocrat burdened by the weight of his family's legacy and hidden debts. He is motivated by a desire to protect his family's honor and uncover the truth behind the threats against him, but his flaws include a tendency toward secrecy, paranoia, and a passive reliance on others to solve his problems. Internally, he struggles with guilt over past questionable dealings and a deep fear of being exposed as a fraud. His relationships are strained: he is distant from his wife, wary of his business partner Reginald Whitmore, and resentful of Harold Sanson's accusations. His change potential is moderate—he could be moved toward honesty and vulnerability if confronted with the consequences of his secrets, but his pride and fear of disgrace make genuine transformation difficult.

Sharp-Eyed Guest
A shrewd and observant estate appraiser who has worked with the Thornholdt family for years, she is motivated by a desire to uncover the truth behind the manor's secrets and to protect her professional reputation. Her flaws include a tendency toward secrecy and a reluctance to fully trust others, stemming from past betrayals. Internally, she struggles with guilt over having overlooked signs of trouble in the household and a fear of being implicated in the unfolding events. Her relationships are professional yet guarded, maintaining a cautious distance from the Thornholdts and other guests. Her change potential is moderate; she could be swayed toward openness and cooperation if shown genuine trust, but her self-reliance and wariness make transformation difficult.
