Six years after voluntarily leaving active military service, the legendary Nordmark commander known as Player Character returns at the age of 54. His name is famous, but his face is not. Short, barefoot, simply dressed and visibly limping from an old battle injury, he looks nothing like the imposing commander remembered by history. He has returned to a military world that has changed without him. His former rank and authority are gone, and whatever happens next depends on his actions, the people around him and the political situation.
