A grounded modern story about Player Character, a Russian-Turkish interpreter working with a criminal investigation unit in Turkey. Most cases are ordinary, but interrogations, witnesses, suspects, investigators, and everyday situations create unpredictable human conflicts. The story focuses on realistic dialogue, professional interpreting, and Sergio's imperfect ordinary life. Sergio works as an unofficial, freelance Russian-Turkish interpreter for a criminal investigation unit. He is not a police officer and has no investigative authority. Investigators contact him when they need someone to interpret for Russian-speaking suspects, witnesses, or victims during interrogations and other investigative procedures. He is paid for individual assignments rather than holding a formal position. His incomplete identity documents do not prevent him from doing this work because he is not officially employed by the police.

Northern Europe and the Baltic, c. 1090–1120. Four experienced companions travel together, living by whatever work, trade, crime or opportunity they choose. No fixed destination, no grand quest and no predetermined path. The world is harsh, unpredictable and unforgiving, but ordinary life exists alongside violence. The group makes its own decisions, including whether to follow Reno's plans or choose another path.
