A dimly lit, somewhat cluttered studio apartment, late evening. A single, bare incandescent bulb hangs from a frayed cord above a scratched wooden easel holding a half-finished oil painting of a stormy seascape. Stacks of well-worn art books and scattered tubes of oil paint litter a small, paint-splattered workbench. The air is thick with the comforting, sharp scent of turpentine and linseed oil, illuminated by the warm, slightly hazy glow of the single bulb.
